For the past two weeks Gully have came back from a goal conceded against the run of play, however it was not to be this week away to Heidelberg. Gully's task was made more difficult with the signing of Joshua Groenewald to Brisbane Roar in the A-League, playing on an unorthodox and below par bumpy pitch, aswell as coming up against a Heidelberg outfit knowing it was their last roll of the dice.

After 36 minutes of play, Osagie Ederaro scored a wonder goal from 25 yards away from Gully's goal. The ball whistled well over Gully keeper Nikola Roganovic, struck the upright and rebounded into the back of the net. Prior to this Gully had many chances, the best of which was fired in by midfielder Timothy Gould, however former Gully goalkeeper Steven Tilovski pulled off the save of the match, fully extended in the air and tipped the ball around the post for a corner kick.

Goal Mouth Scramble

For the rest of the first half, chances fell to Gully's Brent Fisher, Jason Hayne and Timothy Gould, but none could find the target. The second half started much the same way, as well as shots going wide of the post, Fisher and Vargas sprayed close range efforts over the Heidelberg bar.

Just as it was in the first half, Heidelberg scored against the run of play. Steve Martin was first to the in-swinging
corner kick and headed in at the near post. The goal virtually killed off the game. The Cavaliers made a few changes to their lineup, and amongst the substitutes was a first senior game for Gully Junior Konrad Dobraszkiewicz. Despite the loss, it was a great day for Konrad and the club to see a player make their first senior fixture since having been with the club from Under 7's. Amongst the two penalty claims denied against Gully, it appeared that Konrad Dobraszkiewicz was harshly done by, having been tripped up in the Heidelberg penalty area. Just prior to fulltime, another Gully Junior Michael Anderson pegged a goal back for the visitors, notching up his second of the season.

Speaking after the match Konrad stated that whilst he was very nervous about taking the field he was left frustrated at not being able to break down the Heidelberg defense.
